Impact 100 members and leaders have made diversity one of its top strategic priorities. In January, the Board of Directors created a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) committee to drive this goal, and appointed Deepika Andavarapu to the board as DEI committee chair. Deepika has been an Impact 100 member for 2 years.

The 21-member DEI committee recently drafted these 2019 strategic goals:

• Membership: Build a membership more reflective of the community we serve. Increase our diversity in terms of race, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and life experiences.
• Education & Awareness: Increase our awareness and understanding of systemic racism and implicit bias.
• Grant making: Ensure we are using a racial equity lens in our grant making.
