You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make. Jane Goodall

Our 2016 nonprofit recipients have definitely made an impact in the community with their projects! Here is a quick update on what your membership donation has made possible:

St. Francis Seraph Ministries & Center for Respite Care – Construction of the new St. Anthony Center is well underway with a completion date targeted for November 2017. Equipment has been ordered for the commercial kitchen in the new Center. SFS Ministries expects to open their new Dining Room by the end of the year.

Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding & Horsemanship – Two new wild mustangs in crisis will be adopted in June – including the first of 3 supported by our grant. The new mustangs will be too “raw,” to be integrated into the current herd initially. CTRH is breaking ground on two corrals, where the mustangs will reside until participants in the program ‘gentle’ them using the skills they learn in W.O.R.T.H.

Women’s Crisis Center – Planning, adaptation and certification efforts are well underway for the implementation of Green Dot in two new schools, Holmes High School and Notre Dame Academy, and it is hoped to solidify a third by the end of the 16-17 school year. The Green Dot GCKY Team is looking forward to adapting the strategy to fit the unique needs of each school (one is a single-gender school and the other serves a significant percentage of Spanish-speaking students) in a highly collaborative manner.

Greater Cincinnati Construction Foundation – A Middle School math teacher in-service training is scheduled for June at Woodward HS. Three construction draft hands-on math projects have been designed for the curriculum. The Pre-apprenticeship program protocol is ready to be submitted to the state for approval. The board is working to secure land for a new build or a major remodel in Bond Hill.

Such great progress! Thank you for your decision to be a member of Impact 100! You continue to make a difference through your actions.

We are moving one step closer to identifying the Grant Recipient Finalists! The Focus Area Committees have reviewed all the grant applications submitted and several wonderful nonprofit agencies in each Focus Area have been selected for a site visit to be completed by the end of May. Following the site visits, each Focus Area Committee will recommend one or two finalists. The Board Finalist Review Committee will review these recommendations to select our 6-7 Grant Recipient Finalists.

Please join us on June 27th for our Meet the Finalists event at Hotel Covington. You will be in on breaking news as we announce our finalists and have an opportunity to meet them. Look for the registration information in this newsletter.

As we approach Mother’s Day be sure to give your mother and all women who have made an impact in your life a great big hug!

All the best,
