Changing Our Lens: Seeing Art with New Eyes

You and your guests are invited to Impact 100’s annual EDU event, designed to connect you with other Impact 100 members, and explore diverse perspectives on Cincinnati Art Museum’s (CAM) collection. This two-part event begins with a virtual presentation on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Emily Holtrop, Director of Learning & Interpretation at CAM, will examine how social and cultural norms reflected in historic artwork may provide stimulating new insights for our current times. Holtrop will also provide a sneak preview of an exhibition of provocative and sometimes controversial works by African American artist Kara Walker, opening at the museum on Nov. 5, 2021.

In the weeks following the virtual evening event, small-group tours will be held at the Cincinnati Art Museum, hosted by current and former Impact 100 Board members, to provide opportunities to engage directly with the art. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with other members and more deeply explore and discuss the Museum’s stunning art collection. These events are free to members and their guests.

In-person tours will include optional activities immediately following the tours, so participants can continue to socialize and discuss what they observed and learned:
