Who are you as individual?
I am Dora Anim, COO of Greater Cincinnati Foundation and have worked there for a little over 4 years. I am originally from Ghana and married a Cincinnatian (Eric Denson) and we now have 4 amazing kids.  I love to cook and travel. It’s important to me to be part of meaningful work and impactful initiatives. I also believe it’s important to embrace challenges and failures in life as they collectively build wisdom.  One of my favorite quotes: Never be afraid of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you.
What excites you both about being an Impact 100 Member?
It is critical to create spaces for women to come together. I’m excited to be part of Impact 100 as a strong network for women to unleash our collective power.  I love that it creates a safe space for women that allow us to connect to our sources of courage and create deep impact for those most in need as well as to fuel innovation and disruptive solutions.  I’m also excited that 100% of contributions go directly to grants to organizations doing hard work and closest to the needs.
Could you provide a brief description of your favorite Impact 100 moment, if you have one?
I am fairly new to the group but I would have to say the 2019 Annual Awards Celebration!  I appreciated the breadth of information I learned from the presentations and the heartfelt celebration of the most recent awardees.  It was also wonderful seeing so many familiar faces.  I go to a  lot of events throughout the year and this one was by far my favorite!
What tips do you have to connect with other women/community during COVID?
Our use of technology has amplified during this time so we are on zoom calls all day.  While zoom is indeed an effective tool I am enjoying different ways of connecting. I have been having some meetings at parks and outdoors. I have also invited a few friends to go on walks – these outdoor options allow us to socially distance while getting a break from the technology and screens.
