The Basic Literacy Program Expansion: Adult and Children
The Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati champions the development of literacy in the individual, the family, the workplace, the school, and the community by raising awareness, improving access, and serving as a catalyst for literacy efforts. The Impact 100 grant will be used to reach new under-served audiences with literacy programs via opening of new hubs in Avondale and Price Hill.
Through The Basic Literacy Program Expansion, Impact 100’s grant will be used to reach new underserved audiences with literacy programs via opening of new hubs in Avondale and Price Hill. Expanding their services to include four brand new sessions for adult and children in these two communities will support children with an average increase of two grade levels in reading ability, and adults in meeting a fourth grade reading level, and then assigned a “Next Step Game Plan” counselor. Literacy Network will leverage this expansion to open 3-5 more hub locations by 2020.
