I am currently the Director of Community Health Programs at Mercy Health. Community Health addresses the social dynamics and underlying factors that affect the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Mercy Health serves in order to promote justice and health equity. Prior, I was at the American Cancer Society implementing policies, programs, and practices promoting health equity enterprise-wide. Outside of work, I spend the majority of my time exhausting myself chasing around and pretend-playing with my two-year-old (who inspires me to be a better human every day!). My husband and I also love caring for our pet poodle, Scully, who is named after Dana Scully from the X Files. I am also a partner in our family’s laundry services business in Fairfield and Hamilton. The photo included shows me (on the far right) with some staff members and other partners involved in the family business.
2. What excites you about being an Impact 100 member?
I am a new member of Impact 100, but have already garnered a lot through my peers. Getting to know the vast network of non-profits in Cincinnati doing incredible work day-to-day is humbling. It feeds my soul and challenges me to connect and think differently in my work. A leader I admire recently said there are two ways to change the world: One is to innovate and the other is to see the world more positively. The people I have met through Impact 100 have embodied both, and I hope to contribute to this groundswell in Cincinnati as well.
3. Could you provide a brief description of your favorite Impact 100 moment or experience?
There have been several instances when someone in my workplace mentions a person of influence in our community, and I would know them through Impact 100. I also have connected my colleagues and partners to organizations to which I became acquainted through my time reviewing grant applications for Impact 100. It has been a joy to be a small part of this group and I look forward to continuing to grow together.
