There’s a lot going on – to engage our members and “friends” in the month of June.
– We are entering the most exciting phase of our Impact 100 Grant Cycle.
The cycle started late last year with the submission of over 80 Letters of Intent from our region’s creative and dedicated nonprofit organizations. Impact 100 members serving on the Focus Area Committees reviewed these Letters of Intent and the subsequent Grant Applications, culminating in site visits. This was extremely difficult since there were so many strong applications. The review process ends in late June when we will have an opportunity to “Meet the Finalists.” Stay tuned and save the date (June 23) for our virtual “Meet the Finalists” event.
– We will begin the review of the applications for Our 20th Anniversary Next Step Awards. The application deadline for these exciting awards was 5/27. During the month of June, the members who volunteered to review the applications will be engaged in the process of selecting the awardees. We plan to award up to $60,000 in individual grants of $7,500 to $20,000. The decision will be made in July, and the awardees will be announced in August.
– We have some wonderful opportunities via “Unplug with Impact” to meet past grant recipients while enjoying walks in some of Cincinnati’s parks. The Unplug with Impact 100 series was designed as an outside activity – where participants will take some gentle walks while they hear the amazing impact achieved by past Impact 100 grant recipients. There are 6 different opportunities to hear about the transformative community impact of our past grants – – 3 in June followed by additional opportunities in July and August. Check the website – and be sure to register for one of these Unplug with Impact events.
– We have some great opportunities to explore the topic of racial equity planned by the Impact 100 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team. This series will kick off with a discussion of the book “The Color of Law” on June 29. A series of other activities will be available in July through October. We hope to see you either in person at the “Unplug with Impact” events or “virtually” at the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Meet the Finalists events.
Finally – PLEASE SAVE the DATE for our Annual Awards Celebration – on September 8. The plan is to offer this as a HYBRID event – “in person” for those members who feel comfortable attending a live event, and “virtually” for those members who prefer to stay virtual in the month of September.
